If you are a member of the pastoral staff, elders, or church
leadership at a local EFCSW church, you will appreciate the
fellowship, fun, inspiriation and all around great time we have
together at our annual retreat.

This
year our speaker will be Reed Jolly, Teaching
Pastor at Santa Barbara Community Church, which started in 1979
with a few dozen and grew to around 1,200. Quick to engage in
conversation, Reed will tell you that the New Testament uses
many word pictures to describe the church. The metaphors of
flock, vine, body, family, building all point to our interdependence
in living the Christian life. Because of this, we must constantly
be working to meet together in ways that encourage sharing,
accountability, dependence, fellowship and spiritual nurture
in each others’ lives. "People have a real hunger
for truth," says Jolly. "If you go to a church that
doesn't have strong convictions, why bother? It doesn't mean
only Christians have all the truth, but they do have truth.
God exists, he made himself known, he became one of us, he rose
from the dead, and it really happened."
Forest Home - Lakeview Retreat Center
Tucked away in a quiet canyon, crowning a 10,000 foot mountainside,
surrounded by breathtaking views is a place to escape. Let the
crisp air and tranquility transform you. Encounter the richness

you. Everything is taken care of, from sleeping room linens
to tablecloths and napkins in the full-service dining room.
Two standard room configurations are one double bed, two twin
beds and a rollaway bed, or one double bed, a twin bed, and
a bunk. Lakeview can accommodate up to 164. There is also an
outside fire ring, lake, sand volleyball courts, basketball
courts, ping pong, pool tables, and hiking trails are all part
of the ambiance at Lakeview. With its vast expanse of open air
and majestic terrain, Lakeview is a place where lives are turned
to Jesus Christ.
Check in begins at 4:00 p.m. on May 12 at the Lakeview Lodge.
The Retreat begins with dinner at 6:00 p.m. in the Lakeview
Lodge and concludes at noon on Thursday the 15th. Please make
every effort to stay the entire week in order to get the full
benefit!
Monday Morning Golf: Everyone is welcome to
golf! Men, women, and even those who may not be able to attend
the Pastor's Retreat can take part in this fun day. Cost to
golf, $45.
