February 13, 2010 – SERVE DAY OPPORTUNITIES

Serve Day begins with prayer at 8:30 am. Meet at Phoenix Friends (8055 N. 39th Ave.) We’ll gather back at church at noon for lunch (no charge for lunch). Serve Day wraps up at 3 pm. We need YOU to participate with us in one of the local Serve Day Projects. We will update this page as details of the various projects develop. Select the project of your choice and click here to register. Please check back often to get updated information. Here’s what we know so far:

Church on the Street Adopt-a-Block Outreach Ministry
This project will be going door to door to invite the neighborhood to a service that day. Care boxes will be handed out to families attending. Activities include: setting up tables and chairs, assistance with children’s education/games, church service.

Neighborhood Street/Home Clean Up
Assist us in cleaning up the neighborhood around Phoenix Friends Church. All supplies will be provided. This will be manual labor, raking, pulling weeds, trimming trees, picking up trash, etc.

Glendale Crisis Pregnancy Center
We will visit The Crisis Pregnancy Center and learn more about what they do and how we can help. Activities include: a guided tour of the center, collecting and donating items for women who come to the center, prayer for the center.

Afterward, we will put together Hope Tote toiletry packs for the homeless and collect canned food for the Phoenix Rescue Mission.

Serve Day Registration Information: Please register in advance to participate in Serve Day. You are free to sign up for any project that fits with your interest. Once registered, you will receive electronic confirmation of your registration along with timely email updates to keep you informed and help prepare you for the day of activities. Because these projects grow in scope, description and number as our day of serving nears, we will be able to keep you informed of all important event updates by e-mail notification.
