GIVING
The divine enablement to contribute money and/or material resources
to the work of the Lord with cheerfulness and liberality so that the Body may
grow and be strengthened. The ability to earn and manage money so that it may
be given to support the ministry of others.
Romans 12:8 “There are some of us who are able to be super
givers - who are able to go beyond the 10% tithe because we are gifted in that
way.: The Greek work used in this verse correctly translated means “super
give.”
DISTINCTIVES:
• Give money cheerfully and liberally.
• These people have confidence in church leadership.
• They are committed to the building of God’s kingdom.
• Their attitude is “how can I manage my money so
I can give more.”
CAUTIONS:
• People who have this gift have a tendency not to believe
that they are making a “spiritual” contribution. This gift is
no less spiritual than the more visible gift of Prophecy.
• Those who give must be cautioned not to use this gift to achieve their
personal agenda. They must rely upon the leading of God’s church and
their good judgment.
• Do not be afraid to share your concerns, but trust in God and the
stewards He has gifted to fulfill His will.
