Happenings
Well it has happened! Rosalie has officially booked us to share with different churches every weekend through December 20th--sometimes two churches a weekend! We are really looking forward to meeting so many of the congregations in EFC-SW, and we've already been so blessed in the few weeks we've been in California. A couple weeks ago we were priviliged to share with the kids of Granada Heights Friends Church and share in a Cambodian meal as part of their missions conference. Fede is still eating the left-overs…yummy! We've also been to Mirada de Fe in Pico Rivera and Iglesia Amigos in Inglewood where Fede has gotten to preach in Spanish and share more about the ministry in Cambodia. We have been so warmly welcomed wherever we've gone, and we are so appreciative to all of the staff, pastors, and believers who have made this transition to California so hospitable and smooth for our family.

Personal Update
Our kids are getting good practice at cross-cultural experiences as we visit Hispanic churches here in Southern California. Last Sunday, I was getting a little irritated with Timothy in church because he was fidgeting so much—I told him to sit still and listen, to which he responded, "Mommy, but I don't understand anything that man is saying!" (Yes, we have failed in our efforts to teach the kids Spanish.) But Tim's comment created such a teachable moment to connect with him about what life will be like for all of us when we get to Cambodia and don't speak Khmer. It really gave me a huge appreciation for how fabulous and flexible our kids have been through these last few months of transition. We are truly so thankful to the Lord for giving us such amazing little ones!

Praises
o Encouraging times at the different churches we've visited--for brothers and sisters who have welcomed us like family.

o Happy & healthy children--the kids are enjoying California and making new friends.

o Diane found a Starbucks job in CA. She's at YL Blvd. & Bradford if you want to visit!

Prayer Requests
o Our studies--we have MUCH reading to do (especially Fede who is trying to cram the 15 week Perspectives course into 8 weeks and is doing it in his second language…English!)

o That we would be even half as encouraging to the churches we visit as they have been to us.

About the Hernandez's
Fede and Diane Hernandez are our most recently approved candidates for ministry in Southeast Asia (Cambodia). They met in Guatemala where Diane was serving a one-year assignment with Servant Ministries. Fede and Diane both have a long history in a variety of ministries in their home churches. For the past two years they have been involved in a church plant in Allentown, PA.

Fede and Diane and their children, Timothy and Abigail, hope to leave for the field by the end of January 2010. At this time they are completing pre-field studies and training and the Mission Board is focused on completing their support requirements. We believe they will make a great addition to our team. If you would like to become a part of their support team or invest in the general support of the work of Evangelical Friends Church Southwest in Southeast Asia, please email Rosalie Hamman.

Please pray for the Hernandez Family as they make this transition and prepare for their new calling in Cambodia.
