Ministry Is Determined By Several Factors

“There are different kinds of SPIRITUAL GIFTS but the same Spirit gives them. There are different WAYS OF SERVING, but the same Lord is served. There are different ABILITIES to perform service, but the same God gives ability to everyone for their service. The Spirit’s presence is shown IN SOME WAY in each one, for the good of all.” - 1 Cor. 12:4-7.

The only way to know definitely what your spiritual gifts are is through repeated affirmation from other Christians; there are no tests or surveys that can affirm your gifts as effectively as feedback from those in the church you serve. There are, however, various assessments that can help you identify possible spiritual gifts.

The following two assessments have been designed to help you do just that. They act as “windows” to your possible giftedness by yielding insights from your character traits, experiences, convictions and friends.

There may be a correlation between your spiritual gifts and specific character traits you display. This assessment seeks to suggest possible gifts by identifying those traits that best characterize your typical attitudes and actions.

There is often a correlation between past Christian experiences and spiritual gifts. This assessment explores personal experiences that might indicate which specific gifts your are most and least likely to have.

Instructions and answer sheets are provided to guide you. Each is self-scored for your convenience. The validity of each of these assessments will vary, depending on several factors:

• your age
• how long you have been a Christian
• your church tradition or background
• your past experiences
• your honesty

Some of the assessments will be easier for you to complete than others. Respond to each according to who you are today, not who you hope to be tomorrow. Appreciate the journey you are on and be patient with your progress. Do the best you can through prayerful reflection. Enjoy!
